Framing Film – Cinema and the Visual Arts

Framing Film – Cinema and the Visual Arts is an international film conference taking place at the University of Winchester between Friday 4th and Sunday 6th September, 2009.
Cinema’s relationship with, and even reliance upon, the other visual arts, whether for subject matter, inter-textual promotion or graphic design, is central to our understanding and appreciation of the medium. The Framing Film conference aims to chart these intersections to consider the cinematic experience as a discourse with the other arts.
Keynote speakers include Professor Ian Christie, Birkbeck, University of London and Peter Webber, director of Girl with a Pearl Earring (subject to filming commitments).
